Join us for a Lunch & Learn with the national lead for the Researcher Development Concordat. During this session, Tom Rowe will provide insight into ongoing activities and priorities of the Concordat Strategy Group (RDCSG), the governing body for the Concordat, and what this might mean for institutions, researcher developers and researchers.

This will be followed by a Q&A to discuss your views of the Concordat, its strategic direction nationally and your experience with it at an institutional level, including key challenges. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to help shape and inform the national Concordat strategy.

There will be refreshments and opportunities for informal discussions from 2-3pm after the session. Please indicate on your ticket if you will stay for this.

Session outline/ plan

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Learn from the findings and good practice case studies of the RDCSG work on supporting the fair employment of research staff, addressing key issues like career precarity.
  • Learn about what research culture initiatives and Concordats are doing to coordinate and align their processes, and what this will mean for institutions.
  • Insight into the findings from the RDCSG annual report, revealing sector progress in Concordat implementation.
  • Opportunity to shape and inform the national Concordat strategy.

Tom Rowe (he/him): Policy Adviser at Universities UK, specializing in research culture, people and talent, and secretariat to the Researcher Development Concordat Strategy Group.
